Dear TRRCOPO, Summer is almost officially upon us and the weather is already getting a lot hotter. Find out below how we might be able to help keep you and your home cool this summer. Sincerely, TRRC Team Our offices will be closed to the public on June 16th in order for our staff to attend a staff meeting and luncheon. We will be taking this time to evaluate our services and refresh so that we can better meet the needs of our community. Community Development The Two Rivers Land Bank Authority has started the process of selling acquired properties in Adams and Morgan Counties. You can view those properties at www.trlba.org. Community Services The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) has ended. Look for that program again this fall. However, we have another opportunity arriving soon. Keep an eye on our social media platforms to be one of the first to learn how we might be able to help keep you cool through the heat of the summer. Weatherization We are currently taking Weatherization applications in Adams, Brown, Pike, and Schuyler Counties for homeowners and renters. If you are interested in having your home updated to make it more energy efficient, please contact us at (217) 224-8171 and select the option for Weatherization. Workforce Development Graduations were happening all over the Tri-States in May! Clients are now moving onto summer jobs or full-time careers with their new certificates or degrees. TRRC is proud of all our graduates.TRRC Workforce Development continues to assist our clients during the summer months and has many activities planned.There will be a community job fair on June 9 from 10 – noon Quincy at the Senior & Family Resource Center at 639 York Street. Please join us with other local employers to assist in your job search.JWCC will hold their next Truck Driver Training Open House on June 12 at 6:30 pm. This is located at the Workforce Development Center at 2710 North 42nd Street, Quincy, IL 62305. Learn more about the program and what it takes to train for your Commercial Driver’s License.Please refer clients to our offices if they want further vocational training, work experience, internships, or apprenticeships, complete their GED, do an online job search, need assistance with their resume, or other employment needs.
