Workforce Development offers a wide range of training activities to economically disadvantaged and under employed adults ages 18 and over.  Workforce Investment Act (WIA) funding provides job placement, vocational classroom training, basic and remedial education, job counseling and assessment, job search assistance, resume preparation, on-the-job training, child care and transportation.  The Workforce Investment Board has determined that these funds be reserved for those individuals with the most need;  most need is defined as those customers who meet specific income guidelines.

A DCEO Job Training and Economic Development grant (JTEDG) provides funds for Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training to low income individuals in Adams, Brown, Pike and Schuyler Counties.  Additional funding from Illinois Department of Human Services provides assistance and support services to able bodied adults receiving Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program funds.  Usually individuals are referred to this program from the local DHS office.  IL DHS also funds a TANF Employment & Training Program at TRRC.  DHS refers individuals who are receiving cash assistance to our office for job search assistance and support services.
