Illinois Home Weatherization Assistance Program (IHWAP)Designed to help the low income, elderly, and disabled make their homes more energy efficient. This can be done by insulating attics, floors, sidewalls, replacing broken glass, windows and doors, and sealing cracks throughout the structure. Also have heating contractors check and clean the heating systems, install energy saving devices, make minor repairs or in some cases replace the heating system. Seal cracks with weather strip and caulk, insulate attics and walls, repair windows and doors, replace windows or add storm windows. Determined by family size and household income. |
